For more than thirty years, Stichting Roparun has been committed to supporting people with cancer. Not only by providing financial support for palliative care, but also by creating a deep sense of connection, solidarity, and meaning. With its annual relay run—from Hamburg and Paris to Rotterdam—the foundation mobilises thousands of volunteers, participants, and sponsors. Their mission touches hearts: to add life to the days, when no more days can be added to life. At Dex, that mission speaks to us—and we’re proud to support it as Roparun’s communication partner.
From one presentation to a long-term partnership
Our collaboration with Roparun began years ago with a single on-site presentation. It was so well received that we were soon invited to participate in a formal tender. Since then, the partnership has grown into a long-term and trusted relationship. As creators of communication, we work closely with the Roparun Marketing & Communication team to bring structure, creativity, and dedication to everything the foundation shares with the world.
Our approach: involved and imaginative
Our role is broad and touches every part of the Roparun experience. We help shape the visual identity of the event, advise on communication strategy, and ensure consistency and quality in every execution. One key example is the Ropareader, Roparun’s magazine. In close collaboration, we gave it a completely new look and feel—both in design and content. A sharper editorial concept, stronger sections, and an appealing visual style have made the magazine a recognisable and beloved publication among participants and partners. It’s a place where our experience in editorial and design truly shines.
From flags to feathers
And our work goes far beyond the printed page. From full venue styling at the start and finish locations to signage for the VIP village. From route maps to posters and flyers. From flags and beach banners to crowd-control barriers and DJ booths—we make sure it’s made, delivered, and ready at the right moment, in the right style.
What makes this partnership so personal is the connection we feel with the event. Several of our colleagues have taken part in the Roparun themselves—including project manager Jeroen, who once even played the role of the iconic Roparun bird. That firsthand experience helps us understand what matters on the day itself, what people need in the lead-up, and how to empower volunteers and participants to tell their stories. That involvement is reflected in everything we do.
A partnership that truly connects
Our contribution has helped strengthen the foundation’s visual identity, increase visibility, and deepen emotional connection. Clear communication helps participants, volunteers, and partners feel part of something bigger. That’s the real impact of our partnership: it connects people, it moves them, and it helps make something greater possible. And that’s something we’re proud to be part of.
