Sometimes, all it takes is one day to make a difference. A day when sick children are no longer patients, but simply children. Laughing, enjoying, and marvelling.
That day becomes reality during Sprinting Sophia – an annual initiative by Rotary Club Delfshaven in collaboration with Erasmus MC Sophia Children’s Hospital. Children take a seat in tough sports cars and classic vintage rides for a festive rally through the countryside, past farms, ending with a grand finale at The Harbour Club in Rotterdam.
It’s a day filled with joy and connection, all with one goal: raising funds for medical research. In 2025, the full proceeds went to research on congenital heart defects in children.
A warm, close collaboration
What started with a simple request to design a magazine has grown into a close and long-standing collaboration. For many years now, Dex has handled the full design, production, and coordination of the Sprinting Sophia Magazine: a colourful look back on the rally, filled with photos, stories, and heartwarming moments.
But the magazine is more than a keepsake. It is the primary fundraising tool for the event: participating companies place ads in the magazine, and those proceeds form a substantial part of the total donation to the children’s hospital.
One point of contact for over 100 companies
Our role has grown significantly over the years. Today, we’re not only responsible for the magazine’s design, but also for all communications and coordination with over 100 participating companies.
We invite them to the rally, provide information, collect advertisements, answer questions, and send out all practical details. Always through short lines of communication, personal contact, and clear messaging. One point of contact for everything – making it simple for everyone involved.
We also help out on the day itself. We organise, support, and celebrate the event together. With joy.
Priceless
In 2025, Sprinting Sophia raised an incredible €150,000 for research on paediatric heart conditions. A beautiful amount that directly supports the health and future of children. But perhaps even more valuable: dozens of children experienced a day of wonder. Wide eyes, beaming faces, and stories that will be remembered for years to come. To us, that’s priceless. Projects like these give our work meaning.
