Leiden University is the oldest university in the Netherlands and one of Europe’s most prestigious research institutions. With seven faculties, thousands of students, and an international network, the university plays a key role in science, education, and societal development. Every day, it communicates with a wide range of audiences—from students and researchers to visitors, partners, and the city of Leiden itself. High-quality, well-organized print productions are essential to that mission.
Through a public tender, Dex was selected as the university’s long-term partner for its print portfolio. From brochures and leaflets to books and folders—we handle production, quality control, and delivery. But our role goes beyond printing: we advise on materials, finishes, and logistics to ensure each publication meets the university’s visual identity and professional standards.
Hortus botanicus: the green heart of Leiden
Leiden University is also home to the Hortus botanicus, the oldest botanical garden in the Netherlands, founded in 1590. This unique site holds an impressive collection of plants from around the world and plays a key role in conservation, research, education, and leisure.
For the Hortus, Dex produces a wide range of communication materials—from flyers and brochures to posters, sticker sheets, and maps. Wherever possible, we choose eco-friendly and recycled materials, in line with the university’s sustainability goals.
Quality, convenience, and continuity
Partnering with Dex means Leiden University benefits from a single point of contact, short communication lines, and consistently high-quality products. Whether it’s academic publications or brochures for the Hortus, everything is produced with the same care and precision.
With a multi-year contract and a diverse range of projects, this collaboration allows us to contribute to both the academic and cultural profile of Leiden. And that’s something we’re proud of.
We are Dex. Creators of communication.
